Skewers and X-ray Attacks: Master the skewers and X-ray attacks to target multiple value pieces on the board from the Queen's arsenal.
Fork and Double Attack: Set up and execute forks and double attacks with the queen, often resulting in outplaying your enemy.
Overloaded Pieces: Attack when the enemy already has a number on their plates. Learn how to create, recognise and exploit overburdening situations to your advantage.
The Suicidal Decoys: Lure your enemy out and make a fatal move. Learn how to set up decoy tactics, sacrificing material for more important advantages.
Deflection: Master the art of deflecting enemy pieces from some very important defensive duties, opening the path to your victory.
Remove the Defense: Build in the plan and strip them of their defences. Use your Queen to remove critical defensive pieces to make a final strike.
Watch Out for the Weak Squares: Work backrank weaknesses against opponents while safeguarding your position, and creating defensive errors at your enemy fort.
Combination—Mixing Up Tactics: Learn how to combine multiple tactics to combine in devastating attacks to outmanoeuvre your enemy and unleash your victory.
Final Test Review: Apply yourself to challenging tactical tests to help solidify your understanding and application of queen-centric tactics.

Poisonous Pin

The Queen excels in pinning enemy pieces: it pins them down, rendering them paralyzed and passive. I went over this in class to mean using pins to create pressure on the position and induce tactics and mistakes. You will learn to engineer and take advantage of pins to win material or grab the initiative by making your opponent's pieces a burden.

Discover Attack and Check

Discovered attacks and discovered checks can be very powerful, particularly when the attacking piece is the Queen. This session guides you through how to set up these surprise tactics, where moving one piece uncovers a lurking threat from the Queen. You'll discover how to surprise your opponent with sudden and often decisive threats.

X-ray Attack

Skewers and X-ray attacks are strong tactical 'heavy' artillery in the Queen's armoury. This session covers a method to execute these tactics where a player relocates the Queen so that, in straight lines along the rank, file or diagonal, the highest value piece is attacked, with another valuable piece situated further from the queen down the same path or square. The ability to identify and create opportunities for skewers, and x-rays: get the most out of the queen.

Fork and Double Attack

A strong piece for tactical play is the Queen. The reason is its potential to attack two or more pieces at the same time. In this session, you'll be covering forks and double attacks by the Queen, and very often such themes win material. You'll be practising setting these up and taking advantage of them to outplay your opponent.

Overloaded Pieces

Overloading occurs when one piece is burdened with too many defensive task overloads. You will learn here to exploit it with your queen, attacking them to make them give up their duties, or, under pressure, fall under the heavy burden. You will learn how to spot and create situations where your opponent's pieces are overstretched.

The Suicidal Decoys

At times, the best way to win is to offer a piece that seems very valuable, as a decoy. This session covers the use of decoys—how to tempt your opponent to take it as bait and then reveal a deeper tactical threat, in order to land your fish. You will learn to lay these traps and use your opponent's own greed against them.

Deflection

Deflection is the process of diverting an enemy piece from an essential square or duty. To that end, in this lesson, we take a look at how to use the Queen to successfully deflect essential defenders, hence making a path for victory. You will become accustomed to recognizing situations in which deflection is possible and discover ways to carry it out effectively.

Removing the Defense

Sometimes the only thing separating you from checkmate is an opponent's well-placed pawn or two. This lesson covers the tactics of removing rear-rank defensive pieces, by forcing them to move through capture, distraction, or deflection, to expose your opponent's weaknesses and strike with the Queen.

Mind the Weak Squares

The back rank is both a fortress and a trap. Learn to avoid back-rank weaknesses for yourself but also how to exploit them in the opposing position. Learn how to use the overwhelming power of the Queen to deliver back rank mates or force defensive errors.

Combination - Mixing up Tactics

The best Queen play often involves combining several tactics. This lesson works on both creating and spotting combinations where you run two, or more, tactics on the bounce to decimate your opponent. You'll work on meshing Pins, Forks, Skewers, and other Tactics into a single attacking plan
